A couple of weeks ago, I went to the opening of The Other Barrio at the Brava Theater in San Francisco. Based on a story by San Francisco Poet Laureate Alejandro Murguia, this beautifully shot neo-film noir — directed by Dante Betteo and co-produced by my friend Lou Dematteis — addresses issues around gentrification and displacement of low-income communities.

There are several segments in the movie where the main protagonist Bob Morales, played by Richard Montoya, reads newspaper clips that drive the story. I had a lot of fun designing them.
